Who Doesn't Love a "Dad Bod"?

As women, we are so use to hearing all of these different terms to describe our bodies: bikini body, pregnant body, curvy, hourglass, pear-shaped, yoga body, bbw, and so on. Men also have terms used for their body types, but just like us, they don’t like some of those terms used to describe their physique. But after hearing on tv about the trend of the "dad bod", I'm pretty sure that lots of men have gained confidence!
Anyone, I mean ANYONE, who knows me well, knows that I have a thing for older men, especially dads lol or any man with this body type!!! So, hearing this on my television made my day!
What is a "Dad Bod"?

I wasn't able to provide a great definition, so I went searching online, and here's a definition that perfectly describes it:
“The dad bod is a nice balance between a beer gut and working out. The dad bod says, ‘I go to the gym occasionally, but I also drink heavily on the weekends and enjoy eating eight slices of pizza at a time.’ ” (Jennifer Swan)
Maybe it's just me, but I don't find myself to be attracted to men who have a muscular build or a slim built, or even one who is very heavy.  The fact that this became a trend will help boost lots and lots of confidence in all of the men out there who have insecurities about their bodies. It definitely shows that a guy doesn't need to be a body builder or in great shape to be considered attractive.

Do you have a preference on the body type of a male? Yes or no, I would love to hear what you have to say. xoxo

5 Fruity Breakfast To-Go Jars!

Happy Friday you guys!!

Okay, so, I am FINALLY Finally finally going back to school! I've honestly have never been this excited, since I did take a semester off!! And no, it wasn't by choice... situations happen, but anyways lol. I am attending a community college in Louisiana starting this upcoming Tuesday and I decided to just take one class. Why? Well, because the semester lasts about 5 weeks and I think it'll be the best for me to just focus on one class and not rush like I did in the past(lesson learned). The class that I am taking is a speech communication course, which I believe is a requirement for all transfer students to compete; at least those are the requirements for schools in California.

So, the whole point of today's post is to share with you guys FIVE quick & breakfast ideas that you can take on-the-go with you to either school, work, a play date, or whatever the situation may be. I have plenty of other ideas, but i think five should be enough lol feel free to ask if you want more ideas or you can look on PINTEREST which is the answer to almost all of my questions!!!

You guys should know from a previous post that I decided to make a lifestyle change and to lose a great amount of weight, so I'm just giving you guys breakfast ideas that have fruit in it.

Disclaimer: ( I am not a professional, I'm just simply sharing my own ideas. If  you have your own ideas, that's fine as well).

1.  Pineapple Smoothie
All you need are fresh or frozen pineapples and a milk of your choice(I use unsweetened almond milk). The next thing you do is just blend it until you get the texture you want, and you're all set!! UNLESS, you want to add chia seeds, oats or anything you'd like.

2. Fruit Salad
So, a fruit salad is pretty self explanatory. All you have to do is add a few of your favorite fruits to the jar. Sometimes, I like to use 1 tsp. of oats and/or chia seeds to give it a nice, nutty, crunch.

3. Chia Pudding w/ your choice of fruit
So, I like to use chia pudding as a replacement for yogurt because I'm not really into yogurt. I do add some vanilla extract to my pudding along with strawberries or blueberries. Here's a link for chia pudding recipes

4. Strawberry Banana & Blueberry Smoothie

3/4 cup milk (I used unsweetened almond milk.)
1/4 cup quick oats
1 banana
4-6 strawberries
10 blueberries
In the order listed, add all ingredients to your blender. When my smoothie is ready, I pour it into a glass and top off with a tablespoon of chia seeds and oats. I personally use frozen fruits that I get from one of my favorite places to buy groceries(I'm doing a post on this soon by the way), but you can use whatever you desire.
5. Banana, Oats, & Peanut ButterJust cut two bananas into smaller pieces, and then you just make layers with the oats and peanut butter like you would do a banana pudding or trifle. I just recently began using the "Jiffy Omega-3 Creamy" peanut butter, but I'm slowly trying to work my way up to something a little healthier and just as yummy.

Let me know if you guys would like any more ideas or if you want to share some of your favorite recipes! xoxo

Help Give Janice a new Kidney!

Hi everyone. So, I am writing a very important post today because someone who I've known since I was 11 years old is in very much need of a kidney transplant, but her and her family need your help to make that happen.

Janice was diagnosed with acute Reno failure in 2005. As a single mom of three, Janice has sacrificed so many doctor's appointments and well needed treatments for 10+ YEARS just to make sure that her children were well taken care of, and now it's time for her to to be taken care of. Everytime that I was around her, she would always be happy and cracking jokes and just living in the moment.

Right now, her family is trying to raise $5,000 to help pay for better doctors, and to receive the proper amount of

care to help treat her. Even if you are only able to donate $.50 0r $1, every penny counts, and it'll be very much

appreciated.

If you are interested in hearing Janice's story, here's the link:

What Universities am I Applying to this Year?

Happy Friday everyone! I'm honestly a little stressed out today because I have to wait until next year to transfer to a four year college.

For those of you who don't know, I decided to go the community college route instead of attending a four year college right after high school.

What do I mean by the community college route?

So, basically, when you go the community college route, is when you take all of your general education at a 2 year school, and then you transfer to a four year college(university). By the way, community colleges are 2 year schools, but most people, including myself, usually transfer after 3+ years, depending on your major and also how far you place on your placement exams.

Anyways, so, my goal was to transfer this fall to San Francisco State, but unfortunately, my GPA dropped dramatically after fall 2014. Why? Well, lets just say that 2014 was probably the toughest year for me, and I didn't pass 3 of my classes. Soooooo, yeah, I'll have to take a few more classes to raise my GPA, & I hope to transfer next fall.

Yes, I know that was a long ass back story lol, but I had to fill you guys in. So, the purpose of today's post is to share with you guys a four schools that I am planning on applying to for next year. I am applying to SF State again by the way.

1. San Francisco State University

2. Louisiana State University

3. University of Houston

4. University of Louisiana at Lafayette

As you guys noticed, I am only applying to schools in or near Louisiana, beside SF State because that's where I currently live. My reason is because I have to consider the distance I have to go in order to attend a school; that's why I'm only applying to one school in California. I've learned that before you start attending a school, you are encouraged to go and take a tour of the campuses, and also attend orientation where you can add your classes and settle into your dorm room(if you are living on campus). I'm not going to apply to a school in New York, for example, because I can't afford to either drive of take a plane down there for both the orientation & the school semester. I'd rather apply to schools that are no more than 5 hours of driving distance, so that I can get to do all of those things and save more money!

I'm pretty happy with my choices because they all offer majors including Fashion Merchandising & also Gender Studies!!! Yes, I am going to be a double major.
Now that I picked my schools, I can begin making sure that I am taking all of the right classes that'll satisfy each school.

If you guys have any questions about applying for colleges or just anything related to college, feel free to comment below and I will do my best to answer them. Also, if you guys have any recommendations for schools, I am very much open and I will do research on those schools.

Weight Loss Journey??

Hello guys! I am here today to share with you guys that I am beginning a weight loss journey!!!!

I have to admit, I'm a little scared and excited at the same time! Simply because it's a HUGE commitment, I'd have to get rid of some of my favorite foods, but I know that it'll be worth it.

Why did I decide to make a lifestyle change?
  1. I want to show my stomach more than EVER! without it looking disturbing to others lol.
  2. I don't want to shorten my life due to the face that I chose to be lazy.
  3. I want to make sure that I have healthy children
  4. I'm borderline diabetic
  5. I want to be able to run around a block without the feeling of over exhaustion.

I have been overweight for most of my life!! I realized at the age of 10, that I was way bigger than my friends and other children my age. I've been over 200lbs since I was at least 9 years old, and that's not okay!  I can no longer blame my parents for the lack of effort to push me to be healthier. I'm almost 21 years old, so now, I have all of the power to get my health under control.

Don't get me wrong, I have lots and lots of confidence, and I am pretty comfortable with my body, but I just know that living a healthier life will dramatically increase that confidence.

Are any of you guys looking to begin your weight loss journey, or you already have? I'd be so grateful to receive any tips and encouragement!

xoxo Wish me luck guys!
